Actress is first to be cast in Home School Musical June 20, 2010
Los Angeles, CA – After a long day of casting at Film Independent in Los Angeles, Scraping Bottom Productions is delighted to announce that Kelly Marchand has been cast to play the role of Miss Coche’ in the upcoming dark comedy Home School Musical. Kelly will play the part of the has-been cheerleader who works as the activities coordinator for the home schoolers. Kelly’s audition was so riotously funny it had the casting team in stitches. “I’ve never seen an actor walk in and take over the casting room the way Kelly did,” commented producer/director M. J. Johnson, “this will be a blast.”
Kelly Marchand (www.kellymarchand.com) is a busy actress. Lately, she's had roles in five short films screening in over 10 festivals in the last year alone including LAShorts, Screamfest, and IndiefestUSA. Throughout 2009, Kelly reigned as Miss Horrorfest, the Official Spokeswoman for After Dark Films, starring in her own webseries and making live appearances all over the country (Miss Victoria Tim on YouTube). In 2010, Kelly was named Best Actress in a Drama Series at the recent StayTunedTV.Net Awards 2010 for her role as Lexi Warthers in the action web series "30 Seconds from Oblivion" (Stay Tuned TV). Currently Kelly can be seen on television starring as a trophy wife in super funny commercial for Laughlin, NV Casinos, and online co-starring in the webseries "10 Dates from Hell" on TBS.com (YouTube commercial, YouTube 10 Date from Hell).
Casting for Home School Musical will continue next week with two days of auditions in San Luis Obispo. Then, it’s back to L.A. for another half-day session the following week. Whew!
