Award winning composer providing music for Strangers January 12, 2010
New York, NY - John Califra, an accomplished, award winning composer, has agreed to license music from his extensive symphonic library for Scraping Bottom Productions’ new short film, Strangers. After screening a rough cut of Strangers last week in New York City, Mr. Califra agreed his music was a good fit for the film. Mr. Califra’s work includes scores for dramatic and animated feature films, Oscar and Emmy winning documentaries and live events such as New York City’s Millennium Celebration and Major League Baseball’s World Baseball Classic. His film scores have received unusual critical attention from such outlets as the New York Times, New York Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and the Jaman Lounge. Mr. Califra’s specialty has been the composition, production, and recording of scores for live instrumental ensembles ranging from small groups through large symphony orchestras. More information about Mr. Califra, as well as samples of his work, can be found on his web site www.johncalifra.com. SBP is amazingly fortunate to be working with someone of John Califra’s caliber!
