Shanked was filmed entirely on location in San Luis Obispo, CA in the Spring of 2005. Rehearsals opened in Los Angeles in March and principal photography commenced in S.L.O. in late April and wrapped in early May. Sparing no expense, the producer housed the actors at the luxurious Econo Lodge while the crew were hosted by local residents throughout the city. The restaurant and bar scenes were shot at the 1865 Restaurant, which has since closed forever, making this film a fitting, final tribute to one of the finest dining establishments in this part of California!
